The band has welcomed the new arrivals

Milton Keynes Brass is looking forward to the new contesting season boosted by new arrivals.

After losing some key personnel at the end of 2024 they are delighted that they have been able to welcome both a new Musical Director, principal cornet and solo euphonium.

Players and MD

Ben Smith has come in on euphonium with John Kinsella on cornet to join a band that will now be led by the experienced Neil Brownless.

Speaking about his appointment Neil told 4BR: "Having helped MK Brass out many times in the past I was delighted to be asked to take them for their Christmas concert and the Area contest. I've really enjoyed working with the band so had no hesitation in accepting the full time role."

He added: "To be joining at the same time as such incredible musicians in John and Ben really puts the band in a strong position going forward, and I'm excited to see the fruits of our partnership."

Looking forward

Speaking about their arrivals Ben said: "After a short break from playing, I'm really looking forward to getting back to it and am delighted to have found a friendly and welcoming band to do it with", whilst John added: "I'm also delighted to join such a hard-working, friendly and ambitious band."

Fortunate

A band spokesperson stated: "We have been very fortunate to have filled both key musical direction and playing roles with these fine musicians.

We are in a fortunate position with a full band and excellent attendance at rehearsals. 2025 really is looking exciting as we embark into the Championship Section."
