The Canadian Staff Band of The Salvation Army has announced the appointment of Andrew Burditt as their new Bandmaster. He will take on the new role later this year.
A cornet playing member of the band for more than 22 years, as well as being a previous member of the band locals, he is currently the Bandmaster of the Oshawa Temple Senior Band.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto, a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations Management from Royal Roads University, and completion of the Executive Leadership Development Program at Simon Fraser University.
Look forward
A spokesperson stated: "Andrew has been a regular faculty member for various music camps, including Territorial Music School, a music guest at divisional camps and special weekends, a former Divisional Music Director in USA South, and has previously led YP band and Songsters.
We look forward to a new season under Andrew's leadership."
