The Brass in Concert Championships, has announced the line-up of 11 bands that will compete for 2025 entertainment title at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.
The 48th Championship event on Saturday 15th November will see defending champion Cory alongside rivals from England, Scotland, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Cory defend title
Frank Renton will once again add to the day when introducing Aldbourne, Brass Band Schoonhoven, Brighouse & Rastrick, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery, Cory, Foden's, Flowers, GUS Band, Kleppe Musikklag, KNDS Fairey, and the cooperation band.
The draw for the contest will be made at the forthcoming European Championship in Stavanger.
Returns
Whilst Cory will look to add to make it 10 victories at the event, Kleppe Musikklag will be taking their first bow. The Norwegian Elite Division band came fourth at the 2024 Siddis Championships and posted a top-six finish at the National Championships in Bergen earlier this year as well as recently winning the Oslo Brassfestival title.
There is also a welcome return for the former Dutch National Champion Brass Band Schoonhoven for the first time since 2019, whilst closer to home KNDS Fairey returns for the first time since 2014.
2024 runner-up Brighouse & Rastrick heads a high quality of returnees alongside National Champion Flowers, former champion Foden's, Aldbourne, Carlton Main, GUS Band and the cooperation band.
Both days of the event will be live broadcast on the wobplay.com platform.
Youth Brass in Concert
The entertainment spotlight will shift focus on Sunday 16th November to exciting talents of the Youth Brass in Concert contenders.
Seven outstanding ensembles will showcase their talents: Elland Youth Band, Houghton Area Youth Brass Band, Lancashire Youth Brass Band, Lions Youth Band, Shepherd Group Youth Band, Wardle Academy Youth Brass Band, Youth Brass 2000
Excitement
Speaking about the event Nigel Stevens, CEO of Brass in Concert, shared his excitement: "We're absolutely thrilled with the calibre of bands competing this year.
It's especially exciting to welcome new and returning faces into the senior Championship and Youth Championship. That blend of fresh faces and established names is what keeps Brass in Concert unique.

The competition will close on Friday 9th May at 5.00pm, ahead of the draw taking place at the European Brass Band Festival in Stavanger.

Prices are £42.50 or £33 + booking fee, whilst Youth Brass in Concert will be £13 for adults, £5 for U18s, and free for under 5s.
