Old Silkstone Band has announced the appointment of the experienced Norman Law as its new Musical Director.

Commenting on his new role Norman said: "I'm very pleased to return and looking forward to exciting times ahead including the First Section Cheltenham National Final after we qualified together at the Yorkshire Regional Championships."

Band Chairperson, Ian Askey responded to the news by adding: "The band has worked so well with Norman in the past and we are now all looking forward.

We would like to thank Eliot Darwin for his musical direction over the last 14 months and for also stepping on to the principal cornet seat for the Area contest."
