The Scots will head to Kerkrade in 2026 to see if they can become World Champions.

Following their impressive fifth place finish at the recent European Championships in Stavanger, the cooperation band has confirmed that they will now compete at the WMC World Championships in Kerkrade in 2026.

Blue Riband

The decision will see them join 2025 National Champion Flowers as one of two current UK entrants for the Blue Riband Championship Division category over the weekend of the 10th-12th July. The current title holders are Brass Band Willebroek, who won the European title in Stavanger

The set-work for the event (which must be included in an overall programme) is 'Mirage' by Jaan de Haan, which will be made available to competitors in September.

First Scottish band

Speaking about the decision to enter the event for the first time, a cooperation band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are honoured to be the first Scottish band to participate in the Championship Division of this outstanding event.

It follows our recent success in Europe and reinforces our desire to be a competitive force at the major championship events."
