Hepworth Band will be hosting a special charity concert for the Albie Sugden Foundation at Christ Church, Holmfirth on Saturday 24th May (7.00pm).
Funding research
The Foundation funds research to find kinder, more effective treatments for young people affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. Oncology treatment for children is aggressive, painful, and unforgiving. The Foundation aims to make the treatment experience more tolerable by providing toys and equipment for children whilst in hospital.
It is also a charity close to the heart of the band through cornet player Joe Hainsworth's wife Megan who was a room leader of the nursery Albie attended. She had a really close bond with Albie and even spent time looking after Albie for the family outside of work.
Since Albie's passing, she has kept close contact with the family and has been a driving force to bring the concert to fruition.
