Dylan Williams will become a member of the Gorsedd of Bards

Conductor and player Dylan Williams is to be honoured at the forthcoming National Eisteddfod of Wales by being made a member of the Gorsedd of Bards.

The Gorsedd is made up of poets, writers, musicians, artists and other people who have made a distinguished contribution to the Welsh nation, the language, and its culture.

Recognition

Dylan is to be honoured in recognition of his work and achievements in teaching brass in the Caernarfon area for the last 26 years.

He has also led the Gwynedd and Môn Senior Brass Band and enjoyed success with Ysgol Brynrefail, Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen and Ysgol Bontnewydd — most recently at this year's Urdd youth eisteddfod in Margam. He has also played cornet with Seindorf Arian Deiniolen for a number of years.

Presentation

He will be presented with his Green Robe in Wrexham in August alongside other notable new members such as actors, footballers, politicians, media broadcasters and several Eisteddfod volunteers.
