The latest newsletter from the UniBrass Foundation has highlighted the latest initiatives it will be undertaking in the coming months.
Come and Play
Despite being away on their summer break from studies, students can maintain contact with the banding movement through the 'Come and Play Day' on Saturday 30th August in Oxford.
Conductor and composer Andrea Price will be guiding a scratch band of university students (including those starting courses in September) from across the country through a day of rehearsals leading up to an informal evening concert.
Blow your own
Before then, there is the 'Blow Your Own Trumpet' (Euphonium, Cornet, or even Kazoo) project where student brass players across the UK can simply pick up their instrument and take part.
From 21st-27th July, they can perform the brand-new 'Fanfare for UniBrass', written by Christian Goodwin, winner of the UniBrass 2025 Best Student Composition or Arrangement Prize.
All they have to do is share their performance (on video if they like) along with the crowdfunder link to help raise vital funds for UniBrass 2026 and the UniBrass Foundation.
Sign up at www.unibrass.co.uk/fanfare to receive the fanfare and get involved.
