The two-year musical partnership between conductor Andrew Duncan and Dalmellington Band has come to an end.
Enjoyed
The Scottish composer, arranger, adjudicator and professional orchestral tuba player took over the baton from Gary Williams, and told 4BR: "I've really enjoyed working with Dalmellington. They are a fantastic, committed group of players and are a band with a really fine tradition.
However, I can't now commit to taking regular weekly rehearsals alongside my growing writing and playing commitments. I would like to thank the band for their hard work and over the last couple of years. "
Success
During his tenure the band won the West of Scotland Band Association Open title, claimed a top-six finish at the British Open Spring Festival Senior Cup and came fifth in the Championship Section at the Scottish Championships.
