The musical partnership between Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band and professional conductor Ryan Watkins has come to an end.

The two-year partnership was marked by both a return to the Albert Hall National Final for the first time since 2019, as well as a memorable victory at the Senior Cup, directed by Thomas Wyss.

In addition, the band gained acclaim for its musical outlook, with their final appearance together coming at the recent Scottish Open, whilst he has also increased his profile with success at Hepworth and Gota Brass in Sweden.

Incredible work

The band thanked him for his "incredible work" over the last two years, adding that, "his expertise, guidance and leadership has made a tremendous impact as we have grown in confidence and ambition. We're truly grateful for everything he has done for us to help us improve and grow."
