It's been a wonderful 18-month period for Burbage Band (Buxton) following the completion of their ambitious 'Burbage Works' project which received £36,885 in funding after the band utilised Brass Bands England's Fundraising Service.
Heart of Brass
The multi-faceted project showcased the history of the band and brass band music from its formation in 1864 until the present day. It culminated this summer with the premiere of the documentary 'Heart of Brass' — a documentary that can now be enjoyed on Amazon Prime or by purchasing the DVD.
'Heart of Brass' has gained a number of awards and honourable mentions from film festivals — including the 'Best Film' accolade at Buxton Festival Fringe.
Reviewers on IMDB have hailed the documentary as, "educational, funny and heartwarming" showcased the band's "resilience, bravery and readiness for change of style and outlook".

New works
A brand new set of 16 pieces of music was composed and arranged by the band's in-house composer, Sam Pollard to accompany the project.
