The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced its 2025 Champion Bands of the Year.

The awards take into account the contest the bands in each section compete in, with the cooperation band taking the Championship Section accolade after a year in which they became the first Scottish band to claim the Brass in Concert Championships title.

In addition, they also provided fine performances in coming runner-up at the Scottish Championship, took the Fife Brass Band Festival title, came fifth at the European Championships, seventh at the British Open and ninth at the Royal Albert Hall National Final.

Kinnel triumph

The First Section award went to Unite Scotland Kinneil following a bust contesting year season that saw them claim victories at the West of Scotland and Band Supplies Scottish Challenge contests.

Memorable years

Scottish Champion Perthshire Brass were the Second Section winner, with the Third Section award presented to Renfrew Burgh who won the Scottish Championship, came sixth at the National Finals and won the Borders Entertainment Contest.
4BR Lower Section Band of the Year nominee, Arbroath & Carnoustie secure the Fourth Section honours after a memorable year in which they won the Scottish and National Fourth Section titles.

2025 Bands of the Year:
