Battle of the Clans

A new cross border contest pitting the bands of the North of England against their Scottish counterparts will take place in June.

The contest hopes to reignite friendly cross border rivalries

Entries are now being invited to bands wishing to take part in a brand new open, own-choice entertainment contest for 2026.

Inspired by the cross-border brass competitions of the early 1900's, the new Clans vs Counties Contest is open to registered Scottish and North of England bands in the Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth Sections.

Entries

The contest will be held on Saturday 6th June at the Queen's Hall Arts Centre, located in the heart of historic market town of Hexham, adjudicated by John Doyle.

4BR was informed that the first 6 entries per area will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis, not limited by section. Once these 12 entries are allocated, entries will be first-come first-serve for all bands, regardless of area or section.

Deadline

The deadline for entries will be Friday 30th January 2026.
