Scottish Championship judges announced

The adjudication teams and schedule for the Scottish Championship in Perth in March have been confirmed.

The adjudicators who will make the all important qualification decisions at the forthcoming Scottish Championships have been announced.

Chris King, John Doyle, Alan Duguid and Philip Littlemore will judge various senior sections while Joshua Parkhill will provide adjudication for the non-competing bands in Section 4b.

The event takes place at Perth Concert Hall on the weekend of the 7th & 8th March. Saturday sees bands compete in the Third, Second and First Sections. The following day will see the competitors take to the stage in the Fourth, and Championship Section as well as Section 4b.

Qualifiers

The Championship Section two bands plus Whitburn Band invited to the Royal Albert Hall in October. Whitburn claimed one of the four pre-qualification places on offer at the 2025 National Final. Two bands form each other section will be invited to represent the nation at the Cheltenham National Finals.

The pre-draw for Sections 2 and 3 and for Sections 4 and 4b will take place as soon as practical after the entry closing date of 7th February.

Section 2:

Test piece: 20,000 Leagues under the Sea (Philip Harper)
Adjudicators: Alan Duguid and Philip Littlemore

Section 1:
Start: Following Section 2
Test piece: Variations on 'Was Lebet' (Andrew Wainwright)]
Adjudicators: Chris King and John Doyle

Sunday 8th March:

Section 4:
Start: 9.30am
Test piece: Indian Summer (Eric Ball)
Adjudicators: Alan Duguid and Philip Littlemore

Section 4b:
Start: Following Section 4
Own choice
Adjudicator: Joshua Parkhill

Championship Section:
Start: Following Section 4b

Test piece: Elgar Variations (Martin Ellerby)
Adjudicators: Chris King and John Doyle

Wantage Silver Band

Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
