Final musical touches being put in their Bergen place

80 will be putting their own-choice and set-work pieces under final scrutiny ahead of the Norwegian National Championships this weekend.

Norwegian Championships
  There are plenty of great works being played this weekend in Bergen.

80 bands are putting the final touches to their preparations ahead of the Norwegian National Championships at Bergen's Grieghallen on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th February.

Each will look to claim one of the six titles that are on offer, whilst Manger Musikklag will defend its Elite Division honours under the baton of Prof David King. The 2026 Champion will represent the nation at the 2027 European Championships in Montreux.

Elite Division

The set-work in the Elite Division on the Friday is a revised edition of 'Concerto No.1' by Derek Bourgeois, whilst the own-choice choices of the 10 Elite contenders will be played the following day. Each of the other sections are all own-choice.

4BR Editor Iwan Fox will head to Bergen to cover the event whilst Brasspasstv will live stream it.
