There has been a timely media boost for the Welsh banding movement with news that a new monthly feature is to be published in five regional newspaper publications.

It will be curated by David Francis, who for many years wrote a column about banding which was published weekly.

Brass Band Notes

Now his 'Brass Band Notes' has returned with a two-page spread about the forthcoming Welsh Open in Newport on Sunday 22nd February featured in the Glamorgan Gazette, whilst a front-page feature was published in the Gwent Gazette.

It is hoped that the paper and online column will also appear in other 'Celtic Weekly' titles linked to the Media Wales publishing company.
