Boarshurst Band has announced the appointment of Martyn Evans as their new MD.

Martyn has been working regularly with the North West band since January, including helping them secure their top section status at the Regional Championships and a fine top-six finish at the Senior Cup. He also led the band on a successful Whit Friday outing.

Experience

One of the most experienced MDs in the North West, Martyn has gained an enviable CV of success, with numerous National titles and Regional Championship victories to his name, as well as being a former conductor of James Shepherd Versatile Brass.

In welcoming him, the band stated: "Martyn brings a wealth of experience to the role both as a conductor and music educator.
