Cory adds to Prestige

The Welsh champion will challenge for major honours with new Prestige cornet help as partnership with Besson is extended.

Cory
The cornets were delivered by Euan Meikle, Besson UK & Ireland Sales Manager.

Welsh champion Cory will head into the second half of the 2026 contesting season boosted by a full set of the new Besson 2029 Prestige cornets through their association with long-standing partners Besson.

The arrival of the new instruments marks the latest development in a link that has seen Besson provide instruments to them for over 15 years. The new Prestige 2029 model has been developed to retain the traditional warmth and character associated with the Besson brand, something Besson believes has been key to Cory's success.

Ambassador

Speaking to 4BR, Euan Meikle, Besson UK & Ireland Sales Manager, said: "We're delighted to provide Cory with these superb instruments. Our partnership stretches back 15 years and more and the band continues to be an incredible ambassador for the Besson brand.

Everyone at Besson and Buffet Crampon is hugely excited to hear the new cornets in the hands of their cornet section and to see how the players make them their own."

Designed in collaboration with Roger Webster, the instrument features a larger bell, revised taper, redesigned slides and trigger mechanisms.

Cory purchase

The arrival also provides an opportunity for players the opportunity to purchase the cornets previously used by the Cory cornet section over the past three years.

These will come with a certificate of authenticity and will be made available through Band Supplies shortly.

We are delighted to have received the new Prestige 2029 cornets from Besson, who have been fantastic supporters of the band for many years. We're extremely grateful for their continued generosityCory Band

Fantastic supporters

Cory Band Manager Neil Blockley said: "We are delighted to have received the new Prestige 2029 cornets from Besson, who have been fantastic supporters of the band for many years. We're extremely grateful for their continued generosity.

The new cornets are an exciting development, and the section has already enjoyed getting to play them. Partnerships like this matter hugely to us. Having access to instruments of this quality helps our players perform at their very best, and we're proud to continue our long-standing association with Besson."
