The Elland Silver Band organisation has confirmed that there will be 70 entries for their annual Slow Melody, Duet & Quartet Contest, which takes place on Saturday 10th October at Southgate Methodist Church, Elland.

The band has been thrilled by the response, with entries received across the contest's solo, duet and quartet classes.

This year's contest is delivered in partnership with Band Supplies and Besson. The adjudicators are Stephanie Binns and Tom Hutchinson.

There is a prize fund of over £1,000 in voucher prizes generously supported by Brass Wind Publications, Just Music, World of Brass, Wright and Round, Band Supplies and Denis Wick.

There are also tuition vouchers with Richard Marshall, Connor Lennon, Sheona White, Morgan Griffiths, Brett Baker and Gavin Saynor, providing competitors with the opportunity to further develop their musical skills and experience.

Further details will be released in due course. The contest (starting 10.00am) is open to spectators, with admission just £5.
