The Fishburn Band has accepted the invitation to act as Brass Band in Residence at Durham University. They will perform at all the masterclasses this academic year and also the Masters Final Examination Concert in June.

Major works

Works to be performed include: 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth', 'Contest Music', 'Connotations', 'Tallis Variations' and 'Songs for BL' when maestro Howarth himself will lead the session on his own work.

Meanwhile, Chris Evans and Huw Thomas will face a challenging programme in their Master’s conducting examination and Harriet Wybor will have her brass band arrangements and compositions examined.

The band has stated that it is delighted and excited to work with Ray Farr in this capacity.
