Gresswell turns purple

Brighouse and Rastrick has announced that Simon Gresswell has joined the band on B flat bass.

Simon is known as one of the most experienced and foremost exponents of the instrument in the banding movement and returns for what will be his second spell with the band.

Simon joins just in time to help the band prepare for their appearance at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester on 26th January where they play as part of the Festival of Brass under the baton of Musical Director Alan Morrison.

Challenging programme

The band are joined by former professional conductor James Gourlay who features as guest soloist in an exciting and musically challenging programme that will include 'Comedy Overture', Peter Meechan's 'Macbeth', Bruce Frase's new work for tuba, Vaughan Wiliams 'Variations' and 'Harmony Music'.
