Millennium appearance for Gwent

The talented players of the Greater Gwent Youth Band recently played at the magnificent Wales Millennium Centre under conductor Ian Porthouse.

Following the recent three day Christmas course for both the Greater Gwent Youth Brass Band and the Greater Gwent Intermediate Brass Band which were great successes, the main band performed at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff as part of the Sunday Bandstand series.

Fine form

An appreciative audience enjoyed the playing and the band were again on fine form under the direction of course conductor Ian Porthouse.

The band now look forward to performing in the regional festival of Music for Youth on Sunday 16th March, the annual Gwent Summer Showcase at St David’s Hall, Cardiff on Monday 7th July and their concert tour to Poland in August 2008.
