At the first SABA Executive meeting for 2008, Bruce Raymond announced his resignation from the position of SABA President.

Mr Raymond stated that he felt that he had made a significant contribution to banding in South Australia and that he wished to focus more time on his work at Trinity College Gawler, the K&N Spring Gully Brass, and his family.

Bruce Raymond has been a wonderful SABA president over many years. He has done much to strengthen the profile of banding in this state, and has set a marvellous example for others to follow.Kevin Cameron, President SABA

"Bruce Raymond has been a wonderful SABA president over many years. He has done much to strengthen the profile of banding in this state, and has set a marvellous example for others to follow," said Dr Cameron.

"I thank the SABA Executive for its vote of confidence in me to lead this association into the future. I am looking forward to working with my executive team and our member bands to continue to enhance the important role and position of banding and community music in South Australia."
