The band is replacing their old rain coats and stage uniform. The long coats are almost identical to those used by the Salvation Army and the stage uniforms are actually "SA Festival Tunics" so it is only fitting that they gain a new lease of life with the Salvation Army.
The current uniforms got their last outing at Blackpool when the band dipped its toe in the contesting water for the first time in 6 years4BR

Often surplus Police unform is scrapped for security reasons. That said this style of uniform is now obsolete and just too good to dispose of, so the band are delighted that it will gain a new lease of life (minus Police insignia of course!) with such deserving bands.
