Hello and goodbye at Wingates

There have been some departures and arrivals at Wingates.

Wingates

The Wingates Band has announced the departure of Andy Morris.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Andy, who has been a member since 2006 has shown what a true bandsman’s commitments are all about. For the past two years he has been making the 200 mile round trip from Llanberis in Wales to attend rehearsals. His commitment and bandsmanship has been exemplary."

All Change!

As a result of Andy’s departure the band has undergone further changes within the cornet section. Gareth Crane moves to play 2nd cornet and Michelle Lane has moved onto the front row. Sue MacDonald also returns to playing 3rd cornet after a spell on 2nd horn.

Signings

The band welcomes back Grenville Moore on repiano, who told 4BR: "It was the happy atmosphere that ultimately influenced my decision to return."

Further strengthening of the ranks sees Sarah Jane Watkins joining on front row whilst Suzanne Kay joins thehorn section.

Due to the Moore family being unable to play at the Grand Shield, Wingates have secured the short term services of Jonathan Parkes and Richard Walker.
