Tait departs from Reg Vardy

Tait calls it a day at Reg Vardy after 29 years of principal service.

4BR has been informed that principal cornet player Bryan Tait has left the current Notrth of England Regional Champions Reg Vardy after a career spanning 31 years with the band.

Highlights

Bryan, who had been the band's principal cornet player for the last 29 years, played under numerous top name conductors during his tenure, the highlights of which included leading the band to a hatful of Regional titles, appearances at the British Open, National Finals and Brass in Concert, the World Championships and a host of prestigious concert and recording appearances.

He was possibly the longest serving principal cornet player of a championship section band of the past 40 years or more4BR

Major part

As far back as 1982 he won the 'Best Soloist' prize at Brass in Concert with his performance of 'Miss Blue Bonnet' and shone as he played a major part when the band secured its best ever result of third at the National Championships in 2004.

Longest serving

He was possibly the longest serving principal cornet player of a championship section band of the past 40 years or more.

Bryan told 4BR that he would like to wish the band all the best in their future endeavours.
