The Pangbourne and District Silver Band was delighted to welcome Derek Broadbent for three training sessions last weekend.

Derek Broadbent took the band through four pieces of music, which will be incorporated into the band's programme for the summer, and gave specific guidance to the MD, Stewart Lewins, who is preparing for a DipABRSM diploma in Music Direction.

Expert tuition

Stewart Lewins told 4BR: "It's been great to have such expert tuition from such a brass band legend, for whom I have a lot of respect. Hopefully it won't be too long before we do this again."

The event was enjoyed by all and the band plans to hold another similar event in the future.
