Ton thank Pritchards

Following their departure from the Tongwynlais Temperance Band, some thanks have been in order for Gareth and Gavin Pritchard for 4 years of hard work.

The Tongwynlais Temperance Band has issued a statement following the departures of both MD Gareth Pritchard and percussionist Gavin, after four years with the band.

Jason Bevan, Chairman of Tongwynlais Temperance Band told 4BR: "The committee and players of Tongwynlais Band would like to publically thank Gareth Pritchard whole heartedly for his musical input and contribution to the development of the band over the last 4 years."

We have performed some fantastic musical interpretations at contests under Gareth’s leadership which we will always be grateful forTongwynlais Temperance

Right decision

Jason added: "It is unfortunate that the partnership had to be terminated but felt it was the right decision to make at this time. We have performed some fantastic musical interpretations at contests under Gareth’s leadership which we will always be grateful for. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Gavin Pritchard who has contributed to some fine performances with the band.

Gavin decided it was right to leave the band along side his father which we fully understand and accept. We wish both Gareth and Gavin the very best in their future endevours.

High standards

He concluded: "The Tongwynlais band have a very strong team of players and will continue to set its standards extremely high. We have some exiting projects planned for the rest of the year including another CD recording, concerts at Cardiff castle as well as a full calendar of contests including Pontins, Wychavon, Ammanford and Treorchy.

An announcement will be made shortly regarding Gareth’s successor at these contests and posted on the new band website, which will be launched next month."
