Bolsover Entertainment Contest

Details announced of forthcoming contest with David Horsfield the man to impress.

Bolsover District Council has announced the appointment of David Horsfield as adjudicator for their Open Entertainment Competition.

The contest will open with the First to Fourth Section which will be staged throughout the day.

Generous prize money

The winners of each section will collect £400 plus trophy whilst there are also generous prizes. The ambitious plans for the ‘Championship Section Invitation Entertainments Competition’ will see an ‘Inter County Challenge’.

The competition will be held on Sunday 5th October at the Kissingate Leisure Centre, Shirebook.

Since the announcement in October there has been interest from bands across the country. We are very excited for the prospects for Bolsover Brass Entertainment Competition 2008Carole Hirst

Competitors

United Co-op Crewe from Cheshire, Derwent Brass from Derbyshire, Stocksbridge Band from Yorkshire and Ratby Co-operative Band from Leicestershire have accepted invitations to compete. The Championship Section begins at approximately 6.00pm. The top prize will be £500.

Carole Hirst told 4BR: "Since the announcement in October there has been interest from bands across the country. We are very excited for the prospects for Bolsover Brass Entertainment Competition 2008."
