Minear takes over Cornish Youth reins

Brian Minear becomes new Music Co-ordinator for Cornwall Youth Band.

Minear

The Trustees of the Cornwall Youth Brass Band have announced Brian Minear as their new Music Co-ordinator.

Brian will be working on all musical matters with the Band’s team of local tutors, preparing rehearsal schedules and arranging the auditions for new musicians as well as liaising with the regular guest conductors and soloists.

Closer links

At present Musical Director of the St Dennis Bands, he is a former Principal Cornet of the Cornwall Youth Brass Band.

His appointment follows the trustees wish to involve local tutors more closely in the musical side of the band. This process started last season with the tutors conducting the band for individual pieces at the monthly rehearsals.
