Lucky mascot

A spokesperson told 4BR: "John’s presence in front of the band was so inspirational and gave an extra push to the end of the year. He may have been our lucky mascot!"

The members in the band have worked so hard this year after celebrating their own 40th Anniversary throughout the year.

Primo Quartet

Primo Tuba Quartet, is a student led ensemble of all members of have also been invited to the Schools Proms on the Tuesday evening. Rory Cartmel is the brains behind this fledging quartet, who for only their sixth performance will be at the RAH — not bad as they have not been together more than a year.

Some of members of the band have spent the week with Bram Tovey at the National Youth Band of Great Britain, with principal cornet, James Fountain becoming the NYBBGB joint principal cornet at the ripe old age of 14!
