Fodens thanks

New British Open Champion thanks all their supporters.

Fodens

Still on a huge high after their victory at the 156th British Open Championships on the weekend in Birmingham, the Fodens Band has taken the opportunity to thank their supporters for the messages and calls of congratulations following their win.

Thanks

Mark Wilkinson from the band told 4BR: "Fodens would like to thank all their fellow bandspeople, Fodens patrons and supporters for their kind comments following their British Open victory last weekend."

Mark added: "We would like to thank everyone who has congratulated us on our victory. Garry Cutt and the band worked extremely hard on our contest preparation and the result has given the band a massive lift ahead of the forthcoming Nationals."

Return of famous name

Mark also informed 4BR that the band will be reverting back to their original Fodens name.

"Fodens have been without financial support since December 2005 when the Richardsons withdrew their sponsorship of the band. Despite this we continued to use the Richardson name in the bands title.

"Prior to the Open the bands committee decided to revert back to the name 'Fodens Band' (as was shown in the British Open programme) due to speaking to interested parties in relation to sponsorship."

Mark concluded: "Due to this the band will now be known as 'The Fodens Band' until a new sponsor is announced. We would like to thank the Richardsons for their support of the band."
