White departs from Blackpool

Andrew White and Blackppol Brass have parted company.

Blackpool

Blackpool Brass has announced the resignation of their MD, Andrew White.

Ten months ago, the band engaged Andrew to take them to the NW Area competition and despite several set backs, Andrew led the band into the First Section.

Thanks

Blackpool Brass Chairman Phil Sherlock, told 4BR: "Andrew’s professional directives and continuous encouragement has provided numerous enjoyable rehearsals and performances. As a consequence, we thank him for all his work and support and welcome the opportunity to work with him in the future."

Demanding

Andrew explained to 4BR: "Blackpool Brass is a busy, enthusiastic, friendly organisation which has a good committee and great social life. Unfortunately, driving for up to one and a half hours to each rehearsal is very demanding and despite having several friends in the band, a change is now necessary.

Best wishes

"However, I will fulfil all the Christmas engagements until a replacement is found after which time I will wish the new MD and the band every success."

Blackpool Brass have toured Malta, released a new CD and signed seven new players over the past few months due to ads taken out with 4BR.
