David Evans takes over the conducting duties from Richard Evans as Yorkshire Imps make conductor change for Butlins.

Yorkshire Imperial (Urquhart Travel) Band has announced the appointment of David Evans to lead their charge for the forthcoming Butlins Mineworkers Championships this month.

Commitments

Due to prior commitments, Richard Evans the band’s Professional Musical Director is in Australia, so the former ‘Imps’ MD has been chosen to lead their 2009 assault.

Top 10 finishes

David Evans last conducted the ‘Imps’ in 2003 and his past record with the band secured top ten finishes in the major contests including a top six finish at the All England Masters in 2001 and a seventh position at the British Open in 2002.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The ‘Imps’ are determined to improve on their debut 2007 placing where where we came a very creditable 5th place overall and 6th place overall in 2008."
