BFFBB announce Progressive Awards

The BFBB has launced its latest initiative — Progressive Awards for bands with up to £250 to be claimed.

The British Federation of Brass Bands (BFBB) has announced its new Progressive Band Awards, which will be awarded to member bands that show innovation and diversity through their work.

Innovative

Awards will be made of up to £250 and will be awarded to bands that, in the opinion of the BFBB, present innovative project ideas. Only one award can be received per year and awards will only be made to new projects.

Criteria

Further criteria dictates that projects should be innovative in order to increase participation and find new audiences; commission new original music; combine with other art forms; utilise digital communication systems; increase participation by minority groups; forge links with schools/community groups.

No awards will be made towards competitive events or contests, the production of CDs or DVDs or the purchase of instruments, uniforms or sheet music.
