Tragic loss in Victoria

108 people have been killed and over 750 homes have been destroyed in Australia's worst natural disaster.

Many individuals and families from the Victorian brass band community are amongst those who have experienced horrific losses as a result of the bush fires which have ravaged country Victoria over the last few days.

President of the Victorian Bands League, Chris Bowman, has initiated a thread on the discussion forum www.spitvalve.com.au to advise us on news of our colleagues as it comes to hand.

Devastating Loss

VBL Vice-President, Peter Wiltshire, has lost his home and is in hospital being treated for burns sustained defending the fire.

Others to have lost homes include Eric Andersen, Richard Teychenne (Traralgon Band), and two members from Maroondah Brass.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to those in Victoria affected by this tragedy.
