No Harmen mute at Leyland

Belgian cornetist Harmen Vanhoorne will lead Leyland's assault at Blackpool on the weekend.

As predicted on 4BR, the Leyland Band has announced that Harmen Vanhoorne will be leading the band’s challenge at the North West Regional Championships this coming weekend.

Best cornet

Harmen is principal cornet of Belgian outfit Brass Band Buizingen. In 2007, he won the prize for Best Cornet at the 2007 European Solo Competition and is the current British Open Cornet Champion.

He has clicked perfectly with the group and will fill the role spectacularly until we find a permanent principal cornet playerMD, Jason Katsikaris

Phenomenal

Musical Director Jason Katsikaris commented to 4BR: "I heard Harmen at the British Open Solos last November. He played the Tomlinson 'Cornet Concerto' and was absolutely phenomenal. He has clicked perfectly with the group and will fill the role spectacularly until we find a permanent principal cornet player."
