Details of the 20th Haverhill Sinfonia Competition have been released.

Entries are invited for the 20th Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist Competition, which takes place on Saturday 26th September.

The closing date for entries is 20th August.

Categories

Categories this year are Woodwind, Brass, Strings (including guitar and harp), Piano and Singers. Competitors may be of any age and nationality and should be of diploma standard, or at least ABRSM grade 8 distinction.

Prizes

There are 37 prizes and engagements to the value of £8,675 to be won, including solo performances with Airedale Symphony Orchestra, Arnold Sinfonia, Bedford Sinfonia, City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra, City of Southampton Orchestra, Lambeth Orchestra, Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra and Wymondham Symphony Orchestra;

There are also solo recitals in Bridport, Brockenhurst, Bury St. Edmunds, Church Stretton, Colchester, Corsham, Derby, Ely, Godalming, Haywards Heath, Hoddesdon, Leighton Buzzard, Letchworth, Linton, Louth, Stratford-upon-Avon, Steyning, Wallingford and Witney.

Adjudicators

The Adjudicating Panel will be Kevin Hill (Music Director – Haverhill Sinfonia & Arnold Sinfonia), Stephen Bryant (Leader – BBC Symphony Orchestra), Piers Lane (Professor of Piano – Royal Academy of Music) and Timothy Lines (Professor of Clarinet – Royal Academy of Music & Royal College of Music).
