Results: Fife Brass Band Festival

Clackmannan lead the way in Fife, with wins for Newtongrange, Arbroath, Coalburn, Inverclyde and Callander Brass

There was a decent turn out of bands on the weekend for the Fife Brass Band Festival, where the Clackmannan Band conducted by took the sole honours in the Championship Section.

Clear cut

Meanwhile, Newtongrange continued their succesful start to the 2009 contesting season by taking a clear cut victory in the First Section under the baton of Nigel Boddice.

Fine form

Arbroath Instrumental showed their form once again, and the reigning Scottish Regional Champions posted a fine win in the Second Section, whilst Coalburn Silver under the direction of Gareth Bowman continued their fine 2009 form by adding the Third Section title to the one they won in Dundee.

Winning double

In the Fourth Section it was Brass Sounds Inverclyde wh gave MD Gareth Bowman a fine winning double on the day, whilst in the Community Section, Callender Brass once again showed the audience the progress they have been making since making their debut appearance at the Scottish Regional Championships.
