Results: Manx Music Festival

There was plenty of fun and games and some great music on the Isle of Man recently — topped by Manx Youth.

The Brass Band classes at the annual Manx Music Festival were held on Sunday 26th April in the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina, Douglas, Isle of Man.

Victors

In the own choice Test Piece Class, Manx Youth and Concert Brass were victors, with Ramsey Town coming in 2nd Place.

The March and Hymn class saw Manx Youth and Concert Brass win again, with Rushen Silver finishing 1 point behind in 2nd Place.

Entertainment

The Entertainment Class provided a lot of quality playing, resulting in Manx Youth and Concert Brass picking up the 1st prize.

Rushen Silver were again placed 2nd, with their Principal Euphonium Martin Norbury being awarded the Best Solo Award.

May 14 • *1st Horn* following on from our decent Grand Shield result, NW Championship Section Rainford Band are inviting applications for a 1st horn player to complete our lineup. Easily accessible from M6 and M62 motorways, between Manchester and Liverpool.


Sherborne Town Band

May 13 • Exciting opertunity for a 2nd euphonium player to join our friendly band. We also would be excited to hear from percussionists with experience in tuned percussion and kit. We are currently in the Championship section and have a busy schedule in 202


West Midlands Police Band

May 13 • We are seeking dedicated musicians to join our ranks. We are looking for a BBb or Eb Bass player, and Percussionist (kit). Rehearsals occur in a friendly environment on Wednesdays at 19:30hrs at Chelmsley Wood Police Station, Birmingham (Junction 7, M6).
