Hebden Bridge set for Heritage weekend

The second Hebden Bridge Heritage weekend is fast approaching.

Preparations are well in hand for Hebden Bridge Band’s second Heritage Weekend, which takes place on 20th and 21th June.

Weekend of brass

The event promises to be a weekend of brass with a Heritage Gala Concert and march contest for all to enjoy.

The Hebden Bridge Heritage Gala Concert will take place on Saturday 20 June, where the band will be joined by Simone Rebello.

March Contest

The fantastic weekend continues on Sunday 21st June, with the Hebden Bridge Heritage March Contest. Each band will perform a short march along Bridge Gate, followed by a contest march and hymn tune played in the picturesque town square.

The march contest is open to all bands from Championship down to Youth Section and the adjudicator for the contest is David Read.

Prize fund

There is a prize fund of £1,200 which includes a first prize of £350 plus many more prizes. The competition will commence at 1.45pm.

The Heritage weekend is being organised by Hebden Bridge Brass Band with the support of Hebden Royd Town Council and the local businesses of the Calder Valley.

Wantage Silver Band

August 22 • Wantage Concert Brass (1st Section) are looking for a SOLO HORN and PERCUSSIONIST. Under the direction of our dynamic and inspiring MD Daniel Hall. This year we achieved 3rd at the L&SC regionals. We rehearse Tue & Fri 7:30pm- 9:30pm in our own bandhall

August 20 • Front Row Cornet & Tenor Trombone. We're a friendly, ambitious Second Section band based in South East Northumberland just north of Blyth. We rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays, 19:30-21:30, and transport can be provided depending on location.


Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
