The fantastic Bandstand Marathon is due to take place again later this year.
Concerts
SUPERACT! piloted the event in 2008 with 50 simultaneous concerts on bandstands in the South West, mainly using traditional brass bands as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
Such was the success that the organisers have expanded across the whole of the UK in what is now the most widespread Cultural Olympiad event in the UK.
They have the backing of the BFBB and interest currently from BBC Radio 3 who are considering making a programme about it.

On 27th September this year they hope to have 150 simultaneous concerts, building up to 400 by 2012.
