Cory will linlk up with Only Men Aloud once again for a three concert series

Fresh from receiving their Band Supplies/4BR/British Bandsman Award for ending the year as the world's number 1 ranked band for a record 12th time, Cory has announced that they will undertake a three tour date with the famous 'Only Men Aloud' vocal group in 2019.

Cinematic inspiration

The partnership first got together in 2017 for an acclaimed performance at the Brass in Concert Gala Concert at Sage Gateshead, and will now bring a special cinematic-inspired presentation to Manchester, Cardiff and Birmingham in March and May next year.

Cory Artistic Director Philip Harper told 4BR: "There has always been a huge following for the brass and voices combination — it's a pairing that really works.

We'll be presenting the best of this much-loved sound in concerts which features some of the greatest music from favourite movies.

There will be music from the pen of John Williams, including main themes from both 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones', but also from Hollywood's 'Golden Era' movies such as 'Puttin' on the Ritz' and 'Singing in the Rain', as well as current family favourites 'The Lion King', 'The Incredibles' and 'Mamma Mia!'"

Both groups are passionate about their music-making, and in combination make a formidable pairingPhilip Harper

Entertainment

Philip told 4BR that entertainment will certainly be the name of the game — backed by the hallmarks of Cory's most recent title winning success at Brass in Concert and with Only Men Aloud just completing their 10th anniversary since rising to fame as the winner of the BBC's Last Choir Standing competition in 2008.

Philip continued: "Both groups are passionate about their music-making, and in combination make a formidable pairing, so if you want to join us for a thoroughly uplifting and inspiring concert suitable for all the family, we would love to see you on one of our tour dates in 2019."
