Advert: Kirklees Music

There is a wonderful Manx connection for Kirklees Music to get yur hands on for Christmas.

Kirklees

On a recent guest conducting trip to the Isle of Man, David Horsfield of Kirklees Music rehearsed a new arrangement of a Manx traditional carol arranged for the Castletown Metropolitan Band by Leigh Baker.

Thrilled

The band were thrilled with the imaginative version of this beautiful melody which is not only suitable for the Festive Season but will be a useful concert number at any time of the year.

Conductor Rodney Evans and Ian Cottier of ‘Time for Brass’ are researching the music and will be writing programme notes for the published version which will be available soon.

Tiger Rag

Leigh has been very busy writing and the tuba feature ‘Tiger Rag’ featured by Shaun Crowther and National Champions Brighouse & Rastrick is proving popular.

‘Bone Apart’ by Donald Gibson was composed specially for Brett Baker and will be featured on his forthcoming solo CD album.

In the Bleak Mid Winter

The solo ‘In the Bleak Mid Winter’ arranged by Black Dyke horn player Jonathan Bates is proving popular with horn soloists.
