Final chord call for A4 Quartet composer competition

There are just a few days left to get you entry in if you want to get your work performed by the award winning A4 Brass Quartet.

There is still just enough time to get your entries in for the A4 Brass Quartet 'Brass Quartet Composition' competition.

Entries have already been received from around the world, so those interested in composing for the critically acclaimed ensemble have until Friday 23rd February to get in their works that can be of any style of between 4 — 8 minutes in duration.

Prizes on offer

The winner will take away £350 with further prizes for the runner-up and the best submission from a composer under 24 years of age. All the prize winning works will be recorded professionally by the group.

The competition has already created a great deal of interest with entries from around the banding world all hoping to have their work featured regularly be the group in their many concert and recording appearances including their recent recital link with the BBC Radio 3 flagship arts programme 'In Tune'.

The winning entries will be used as part of the group's forthcoming concert performances in the UK and Europe, featuring tours to Scotland, Lithuania and Switzerland over the next year.

Scores may be submitted in either Sibelius 7 or PDF format with an accompanying audio file, and emailed to:

Please include 'A4 Composition' in the subject, and include a name, age (if under 24), email address and mobile phone contact number in the body of the message.
Award winners will be notified and announced in early March.

Frampton on Severn Silver Band

June 22 • We are a friendly non-contesting band in Gloucestershire looking for players, particularly cornets, baritone and basses, but all are welcome. We play at many local events and bandstand jobs, and practice on Tuesday evenings just off Junction 13 of the M5.
