New works from Pennine Music

There are two new works to enjoy from the pen of composer Nick Brocklehurst at Pennine Brass

Galley
Sketches from the Galley is one of two new works from the pen of Nick Brocklehurst

Two new works from the pen of Elland Silver Band's Composer-in-Residence, Nick Brocklehurst have been released by Pennine Music.

Sketches from the Galley

'Sketches from the Galley' takes audiences on a swashbuckling 'skull and crossbones' adventure, evoking images of cannon-fire, pirate ships and jaunty buccaneer merriment. It's a thrilling work full of fun challenges showcasing the entire band — guaranteeing to please audiences with its catchy melodies.

The work was commissioned as a concert item for Elland Silver Band and was premiered at their summer concerts in 2017.

Ellandium (hymn tune)

'Ellandium' was commissioned for Elland's 2018 debut album, 'iMAGINATIONS', and was premiered at their 'Yorkshire Champion Contenders' concert in 2017.

The work is a beautiful hymn with a modern twist; featuring lush, jazz-inspired harmonies and a soaring, heartfelt theme carried delicately by the cornets and baritone.

It will satisfy audiences from start to finish, from its humble opening to the powerful climax and peaceful resolution.

Enjoy

Speaking about the new releases, Pennine Music owner, Gavin Somerset told 4BR: "It's always refreshing to be able to bring new, original works to the market.
