Wychavon Festival filling up ahead of closing time

There are still places up for grabs for the Wychavon Festival of Brass — but you had better be quick about it.

The closing date is looming for the festival

4BR has been informed that the Wychavon Festival of Brass has only a few places left to fill in its 2019 Championship and First Section competitions. The event takes place on Saturday 2nd November.

First Section bands can still make themselves available to also enter the top section contest, whilst there are still places available in the Second, Third and Fourth Sections.

Soon as possible

Festival Chair Val Trim told 4BR: "We're delighted with the interest bands have already shown. Even though the closing date for entries is some way off we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enter the event. I would encourage those who haven't made their minds up to do so as soon as possible."

It was also confirmed that the contest will this year welcome bands from Germany and Norway, with the recently crowned European Challenge Section winner, Brass Band Regensburg and Manger Old Stars making the trip to Evesham.

Great endorsement

Val added: "Welcoming the bands is a great endorsement of the contest, and people will be able to enjoy them in concert mode in a free pre-contest concert on the eve of the event.

Any band attending the contest the next day and which happens to be staying over on the night before the contest is invited to join us. There will be a bar and hopefully some catering. We think it's going to be a fabulous evening!"
