The Geneva Group has continued its investment in helping the development of playing talent throughout the banding world with the news that they are to become the main sponsorship partner with the International Brass Band Summer School.

The Geneva Group has now consolidated its connection with what is regarded as the banding world's leading international summer school course for the next three years.

Unique opportunity

As well as their tuba artist Joseph Cook and Education Consultant Brett Baker being present, Geneva will also provide a unique opportunity for delegates to try instruments from their leading ranges whilst on the course and beyond.

Talking about the news, Brett Baker told 4BR: "The pairing of the Geneva Group with the IBBSS over the next three years is an ideal partnership link.

As has been shown in the decision to support the 'Picnic in the Park' event in Durham, Geneva is focussed on backing its commitment to grass roots banding in the best way possible. Here we can offer unique opportunities to work with world class tutors and to explore and test world class instruments.

More and more brass players are moving to the Geneva brands, aware of their quality. I look forward to Geneva strengthening its position with the IBBSS year after year."

Hugely beneficial

In response, Course Director Prof Nicholas Childs stated: "We are looking forward to Geneva Group becoming our Principal Sponsor. With delegates from all over the banding world this is another endorsement of what the International Brass Band Summer School has to offer.

I'm sure the link is going to be hugely beneficially to everyone who makes the trip to Swansea."
