Besses revival at Fleetwood

One of the most evocative names in banding is starting back on the winning track under their new MD, James Holt

Besses

Besses O' th' Barn Band has announced the appointment of their new resident Musical Director, James Holt.

James recently led the band to victory in his first contest outing at the NWCBBA Contest, held at Fleetwood.

Former player

James had been a player with the band for a number of years, serving as a baritone player in the main, but making cameo appearances on front row, kit, solo euphonium and solo trombone!

His emergence as a talented and successful conductor made him the logical choice when our MD position became vacantBesses o' th' Barn

Talented

Obviously a talented instrumentalist, James has a proven track record of success with Besses Boys’ Band and hopes to bring a strong focus on accuracy, musicality and hard graft to rehearsals.

Band Chairman Matt Bailey told 4BR: "James has been a part of the Besses family for some years now, through good times and bad. His emergence as a talented and successful conductor made him the logical choice when our MD position became vacant.

All of us at Besses are looking forward to working with him, especially after the excellent start that we now all have to live up to!"
