CD: Katrina
Is Katrina Marzella the performer to put the much maligned baritone back on the musical map? It's one heck of a job, but she might have done just that with her debut release.
CD: Brass and Wines
Steven Mead dons his musical rucksack and heads to the Iberian Peninsula. Does he make it journey worth raising a glass of the best stuff to, or does it feel like a dose of Spanish flu?
CD: Strike Up the Band
Perhaps the best 12 players to come out of Austria since Hans Krankl and the lads beat Germany in the 1978 World Cup Finals? They may have a naff name, but flippin' heck - Sound Inn Brass can't half play...
CD: Mr Ball meets Mr Leidzen
A perfect musical match up, or just wishful thinking? Whatever the outcome, the South London Fellowship Band certainly enjoy the chance to enjoy a duet made in heaven.
General: Epic Brass II
The World of Brass Concert with Black Dyke and the ISB certainly packed them in at The Sage earlier in the year. Looking back, it seems the audience had plenty to keep them happy too.

CD: Strangers in the Night
Brighouse & Rastrick put their reputation on the line with the latest pick 'n mix selection box from Obrasso. Are the Swiss still trying to sell us unlabelled tripe though?
CD: Shout!
Brett Baker teams up the PolySteel Band to shout out his own particular musical message. Is it worth listening to what he has to say then?
CD: Fantastic Overtures - Volume 3
For a third time Howard Lorriman and Black Dyke dig into the musical ossuary to dust off the bones of what they hope eight more fantastic overtures. Have they succeeded in bringing them to life though?
CD: The Greatest Musical Hits
Ever been faced with the choice of impaling your hand to the keyboard of your PC with a letter knife or buying a CD such as this. It's a hard choice...
CD: The Arban Collection II
Russell Gray ends his bible studies with the completion of the Arban solos. Are they the definitive recordings though?
CD: The Life of a Dream
Brighouse euph star makes his first solo recording. Does he come up with a dream debut or a bit of a nightmare then?
CD: Regionals 2009
2008 is behind us now - so all eyes and ears on 2009. Five choices for Nationals qualification, but are they great tests or great music?
